Mr. Amos,
I don't know if you remember me but about three years ago I called you at Soma LLC looking for your book entitled, The Face That Launched A Thousand Chips and you told me that it was no longer in print.
I told you of my dream to start my own baked bean company and you were so graciuos in speaking with me.
This past June I started my company Cindy Ann's Gourmet Baked Beans LLC and I just wanted to thank-you for inspiring me through your life and through your books to go for it.
I am a fifty three year old black woman and I'm so excited about the fact that it is never too late to pursue your dreams. I have one of your quotes hanging on my wall beside my computer and it is," Nothing is an obstacle unless you say it is."
As a new entrepenueur I would greatly appreciate any words of wisdom that you may have.
I hope that one day you will see my beans sold all over the country and remember that you were a tremendous motivator in my
reaching for the pinnacle of success.
Again, thank-you and I hope to hear from you soon. Oh by the way, I found the book at a bookstore that sells rare and out of print books andit is one of my prized possessions!

Dear Wally - I just read you entry in the Costco Connection magazine and I felt compelled to write you a quick note. I want to personally thank you for being so positive and for reminding us that today is really all we have.
I've been a big fan of yours over the years. I remember the first Famous Amos cookie I had in about the 8th grade. I always loved those cookies. Then I remember reading some article where you were interviewed and you always struck me as to how fantastically positive you are.
I know you've been through some rough times too (both in business and health wise) but you always...always seem to keep a great positive attitude. So even though I've never met you...thank you for being you! You've made a very positive mark on this earth.
Best of everything to you and your family NOW...and in the future!
Thank you - Doug

I was recently in Hawaii and after spending the entire day at the beach I saw the “handmade cookies” sign in the Chip & Cookie store window on Kailua Rd and had to stop in. When we walked in, we saw a man with a funky, fun hat sitting by the window who greeted us with a “if you don’t like cookies then get out.” Later on we realized that we had just met Famous Amos. Your cookies are great and I hope to run into you again the next time I’m in Chip & Cookie in Kailua.

We stopped in to your store this past Saturday, I don’t know why but meeting you for a few seconds and then reading about your story through a google search has really inspired me. I loved your cookies (of course) and think it is so great how you reach out to children. You are contagious with your optimism and spirit.

We just had a fabulous time in Kauai! We were at Costco
and found Chip & Cookie Chocolate Macadamia nut cookie
dough. We loved it so much we brought the left over cookies
all the way home.

Having lived at the Marine base in Kailua, I miss the sunsets,
the beach, and your cookies most of all. Thank you for your
delectable cookies that demand a standing ovation for quality
and taste. I can't wait for your bags of cookies to arrive
here in North Carolina. Stacey

I have to tell you how much my family and I enjoyed the
shop and the cookies (and the book we got for the kids).
We had a couple of bags while in Kailua and then another
one for our trip back home...it was empty when we finally
landed!
Anyway, instead of bringing back coffee for the staff this
year, I decided that your cookies were just the right gift
from Kailua--plus a couple of extra pounds for my own family.
So, many in Cedar Park will be enjoying your cookies this
week!
If your ever looking to open another shop, let me know!
Brenda

Someone gave me a bag just prior to Xmas. I started with
one cookie at a time and ended up with handfuls towards
the end of the package. Fantastic. Larry

I am so excited to see you back in business with the cookie
I grew up with. You are such a delight. Your cookie truly
was special to me. Kim

I received your cookies the other day in the mail. Thank
you! They are delicious and perfect for sharing with my
friends. I was so happy to be able to order cookies in the
mail. It's been a great experience!

We headed over to the Chip & Cookie store and bought
bags of cookies to share with our collegues, classmates
and teachers. They were a hit all the way around.
I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoy your cookies.
Thanks, Mark

I admire you and your tenacity. I have been a fan of yours
for decades. From the first time I tasted your cookies in
the 70's sometime, to the great experience of visiting one
of your stores in LA ( the aroma alone was worth the trip)
and having cookies and coffee there with an old flame, to
watching you triumph over all odds to open a new store;
you are an inspiration. I still have a shirt that I bought
twenty years ago in that LA store.
Being a creative person, it is always a challenge to do
what you love to do and not let things get you down. Your
life is a great metaphor for me in terms of your endless
positive attitude and reinventing yourself with each adversity.
I was depressed when the initial change of hands of your
original company took place and the subsequent product that
they produced tasted like sawdust with chocolate chips in
them. I have just placed an order for two pounds of cookies
from your new venture an look forward to sharing them with
my wife and three year old daughter. Jon
